You can relax knowing that we guarantee that you will receive the best publicly available online rate & cancellation policy on your choice of room for your date of choice when you book directly with The Hermitage Hotel.

Securing the best rates at The Hermitage is easy:

  1. Book a room using The Hermitage website.
  2. If you find the same Hermitage room type, for the same date on another website within 24 hours of making your booking, submit a Rate Claim Form.
  3. If the lower rate qualifies in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, we'll refund you the difference between the rates plus an additional 10%.

Best Rate Guarantee
  1. Terms and Conditions

    1. You must have a confirmed reservation made via The Hermitage Hotel website ( which includes a Hermitage Booking Number and confirmation of full payment.
    2. The guarantee is only applicable to rooms available at The Hermitage Hotel, Aoraki Mount Cook, New Zealand and is not valid for any other Hermitage Hotel, or any other hotels that may be bookable via The Hermitage website.
    3. The competing rate must be for the identical room type, on the same date, for the same length of stay, for the same number of guests, subject to the same terms and conditions and in the same currency (NZD).
    4. A completed Rate Claim Form must be received by The Hermitage Hotel Reservations Department within 24 hours of making your online booking via The Hermitage website and at least 72 hours prior to the universal check-in time of 2:00pm (14:00) on the first day of your stay.
    5. The rate must be publicly viewable and bookable by The Hermitage Hotel at the time the claim is reviewed. We recommend that you take a Screen Shot of the rate, just in case it is no longer viewable at the time that we check the website.
    6. The Rate Guarantee does not apply to (i) Rates that are not publicly available such as Corporate rates, Contracted Agent rates or Group Rates; (ii) Negotiated rates available to pre-qualified members of various organisations; (iii) Package rates that include room, meals, activities, car rental etc; (iv) rates that are available on Auction websites; (v) Rates available on websites that do not disclose the hotel brand until the purchase is made.
    7. The rate comparison will be made net of any taxes, gratuities or any other fees associated with the room rate.
    8. Rate disparities attributable solely to fluctuations or differences in currency exchange rates are excluded from this guarantee.
    9. If the claim period covers multiple nights, the Hermitage Hotel will compare each night of the booking separately.
    10. The Hermitage Hotel reserves the right to amend, revise, suspend or discontinue the Best Rate Guarantee at any time without notice.
    11. Any dispute arising from our Best Rate Guarantee shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand.
