Accommodation

• The Hermitage Hotel is located in Upper Aoraki Village.
• Most rooms offer views of Aoraki / Mount Cook and the surrounding Southern Alps. If you are looking for the best value option, our No View Rooms provide a comfortable base for exploring the National Park.
• The Hermitage Hotel offers a range of room types to suit every style of stay, from practical base accommodation to premium alpine-view rooms and suites.

Dining

• The Alpine Restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner
• The Panorama Room (closed 9 May - 20 September) is a three-course choice menu and our premium dining option
• The Sir Edmund Hillary Café serves cabinet food, snacks, and light meals throughout the day
• The Chamois Bar & Grill is located 800 metres away at Mt Cook Lodge and serves classic pub favourites from 4.00pm daily. (Closed 9 May – 31 August 2026 and Christmas Day.)

Experiences

• Visit the Activities Retail Centre for information on walks and to book guided experiences, including Glacier Explorers and Big Sky Stargazing.

• A two-night minimum stay applies from 23 December 2026 to 5 January 2027
