Welcome to the iconic Hermitage Hotel in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, surrounded by miles of mountains and millions of stars.

Know before you book:

  • The Hermitage Hotel is located in the upper Aoraki Village
  • Majority of our rooms have stunning views of Aoraki/Mount Cook, unless you book a ‘no view room’
  • The Alpine Restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner, the Panorama Room (closed 9 May - 20 September) is a three-course choice menu and our premium dining option and the Sir Edmund Hillary Café offers a snack menu and cabinet food
  • The Chamois Bar & Grill is located 800 metres away at the Mt Cook Lodge, is open daily from 4.00pm serving up delicious pub favourites and kiwi classics. (Please note the Chamois Bar & Grill is closed from 9 May - 31 August 2026)
  • Visit the Activities Retail Centre for information on walks or to book an activity
  • The Hermitage Hotel offers a variety of room types and is the perfect place to base yourself as you explore the National Park
