Hooker Valley Full-Day Walk
Easily the most popular day hike in the National Park, the Hooker Valley Track is known for its beautiful Aoraki views, picturesque swing bridges, glacier views and iceberg filled lakes. It is an easy track suitable for hikers of most abilities with a very gentle incline, approximately 124 metres over 5km. The track is 10km return and is not a loop track.
Full Day Hike - Elevation gain 180m, total distance: approx 14km return from the start of the track
- Depart from the Hermitage on foot and walk via White Horse Hill Campground, where the original Hermitage hotel was established, before joining the Kea Point and Hooker Valley track
- The full-day route includes Kea Point, the Hooker Valley swing bridges, glacier views, Hooker Lake and views of Muller Lake, Mt Sefton and Aoraki/Mount Cook itself if you are lucky enough to visit on a cloudless day, informative guided commentary about alpine flora and fauna. Plus, plenty of time to stop and enjoy the rugged scenery along the wa

- Full day trip depart daily at 8.30am
- Allow 5-7 hours (duration varies depending on group size and fitness levels)
- Adult $240, Child $152
- Moderate fitness is required to complete the walk.
- Minimum child age for this activity is 8 years old and children must be able to walk with the rest of the group.

Hooker Valley Half-Day Walk

Half Day Hike - Elevation gain 180m, total distance: approx 6km return from the start of the track
- From the Hermitage you will depart on foot to the White Horse Hill campground to the start of the Hooker Valley track, from here you will hike to the 2nd swing bridge and then return the way you came
- Enjoy views of Mueller Glacier, Hooker Valley and Aoraki/Mount Cook
- Half day trips depart daily at 8.30am and 1.00pm
- Allow 3-4 hours (duration varies depending on group size and fitness levels)
- Adult $175, Child $105
- Moderate fitness is required to complete the walk
- Minimum child age for this activity is 8 years old and children must be able to walk with the rest of the group
