With a collection of accommodation properties including the Hermitage Hotel, Mt Cook Lodge and the Mt Cook Motels, a variety of dining establishments and unique activities, we provide genuine New Zealand hospitality to guests from all around the globe.

STAY
The Hermitage Hotel
A haven for adventure travellers since 1884, the Hermitage Hotel is proudly New Zealand owned and operated. The Hermitage features a range of hotel rooms from Standard to Premium Plus, offering spectacular views of Aoraki/Mount Cook or surrounding Southern Alps. All 164 rooms in the Hermitage Hotel have ensuites, tea & coffee making facilities, satellite TV, mini-fridges, and free WIFI.
Our Aoraki wing is home to our 60 Premium and Premium Plus rooms. These rooms are located on floors 5-10 and all offer spectacular view of Aoraki through big picture windows. Guests can choose from a queen queen or super king configuration.
Our Superior rooms are located on levels 1-4 of the Wakefield wing. These 38 rooms all include two queen beds and either a small patio or balcony with views of Aoraki.
On levels 1 & 2 of the hotel are our Standard Mount Cook View rooms. These are situated in the Mount Cook Wing, rooms are available as queen, king or twin and have either a small patio or balcony with views of Aoraki.
The Mt Cook Lodge & Motels
The Mt Cook lodge and motels sits in the lower Aoraki village, just 800 metres from the Hermitage. The Mt Cook Lodge & Motels provides a more relaxed environment and is the perfect place to base yourself if you don't require all the amenities of a hotel room.
The lodge houses 59 rooms across two levels, our Valley View rooms have views down the Tasman Valley while our Village View have rear hillside views. All rooms have an ensuite and a small balcony. We have 32 motel units, a mix of studio and family. These are all ground floor, self-catering units and have views of the surrounding Southern Alps.

Alpine Restaurant
The Alpine Restaurant delivers a spectacular buffet dining experience with arguably some of the most impressive restaurant views in New Zealand. Our team use fresh and local ingredients to produce seasonal menus rich in flavour. Breakfast is available daily from 7.00am - 10.00am, lunch 12.00pm - 2.00pm and dinner from 5.00pm - 9.00pm.
Panorama Room
Join us in the Panorama Room for delicious New Zealand cuisines paired with premium views of Aoraki/Mount Cook. Our signature dining experience is three courses with four options to choose in each course. Three and four course degustation set menu available for groups over 13. Wine pairing available. Menus change seasonally to take advantage of the best local produce. open seasonally from 6.30pm - 9.00pm. Reservations essential.
Snowline Bar
The perfect location for a pre or post dinner drink. Sip on a signature cocktail or a glass of New Zealand wine and take the opportunity to relax and unwind after an adventurous day in the park. Platter menu available. Open daily from 4.00pm - 10.00pm.
Sir Edmund Hillary Café
The perfect place to refuel between adventures. Serving up kiwi classics, hot and cold cabinet food, sweet treats, afternoon á la carte snack menu, tea & coffee with a wide range of beverages available. Open 10.00am - 4.00pm.
Chamois Bar & Grill
Located at the Mt Cook Lodge & Motels, the Chamois offers relaxed dining serving up kiwi classic and pub favourites. With a pool table, big screen TV, juke box and panoramic mountain views, it’s a great spot to relax and unwind after a day of hiking and exploring. Open seasonally from 4.00pm - 11.00pm.

Glacier Explorers
Join us on the ultimate ice adventure. Glacier Explorers is the only tour of its kind in New Zealand. Cruise the Tasman glacial lake to view New Zealand's largest glacier as you weave in and out of floating icebergs. Our tours will both thrill and educate you, as our passionate guides share their knowledge of the ever-changing glacial landscape. Departures vary seasonally.
Big Sky Stargazing
Take a mesmerising journey through the cosmos as you explore the wonders of the night sky, home to planets, stars, and a whole other world you can only dream about. Our resident astronomy guides will share their knowledge as they take you on a 1-hour tour of the night sky through high powered telescopes. Departures vary seasonally.
Indoor Planetarium
Explore Aoraki/Mount Cook’s night sky from the comfort of this state of the art facility. Science meets entertainment in our 360-degree digital dome planetarium. Enjoy an unrivalled guided cinematic experience as you see the night sky like never before. Fly to the edge of our galaxy and beyond to the reaches of our universe. Start times vary seasonally.
Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre
Explore the history of this iconic region at a museum dedicated to Sir Edmund Hillary. Humanitarian, ambassador and one of the world’s greatest explorers. Located in the hotel, the museum showcases transport, climbing and Sir Edmund Hillary exhibits. Experience a journey through time at our movie theatre, a unique cinematic experience showing inspirational and informative 2D and 3D movies and documentaries. Open daily.
Aoraki/Mount Cook Guided Hikes
Endless scenic trails reward you with New Zealand’s most spectacular landscapes and front row views to Aoraki/Mount Cook. Explore the breathtaking scenery of the National Park with guided hikes of Hooker Valley and Kea Point. Available October - June with Japanese speaking guides only.
