Mount Cook Encounter Guided Walk
The Mount Cook Encounter Walk is a guided tour of the
Hooker Valley, providing breathtaking views of some of New
Zealand's highest and most enthralling peaks. Our knowledgeable and
enthusiastic guides will tell you all about the unique flora and
fauna of the region and the local history as you trek through this
amazing landscape.
From The Hermitage Hotel we head to the White Horse Hill
camping ground. The half day option enjoys a stunning 4.5km return
trek along the well-maintained track. The journey takes in the
poignant Alpine Memorial and passes over the turbulent Hooker River
twice by swingbridge to unsurpassed vistas of Aoraki Mount Cook's
south face and the surrounding glaciers and mountains.
The full day guided walk option continues to the terminal
lake of the Hooker Glacier, a 8km return trek.

Weather Conditions:
Mount Cook Encounter Guided Walks operate in almost all
weather conditions. However, the safety and enjoyment of our
customers and staff are paramount and should we need to cancel due
to extreme weather a full refund will be offered.
Cancellation Policy:
Within 48 hours of departure - 50% of the total price
Within 24 hours of departure - 100% of the total price
